Hello.
I’m Gemma, and thanks for taking a look at my portfolio.
I’m proud to have spent the last two decades working as creative of some description or another.
Twenty colourful years delivering print based editorial, outstanding advertising campaigns, digital design and building D&AD Pencil-winning brands in-house or for studio agencies as a brand designer, art director or design director.
All of these roles can be distilled down to one thing; to understand what the customer needs now. I include the word ‘now’ because what the customer needs is always shifting. Sometimes the change is slow and hard to spot and sometimes the change hits you like a punch in the face.
To get it right most of the time, the ‘big idea’ needs to be commercially, socially, culturally, environmentally and politically relevant to the customer.
Whatever my role is – my aim is the same: for the work to become so relevant that it is enshrined at every touchpoint of the business from staff to customer. To find a motivating point of difference. To get talked about in pubs and playgrounds, to become part of language.
And, to exceed expectations for you and your customers.
